the dark hugged tight, too tight; its embrace near crushing in its potency as she writhed and cried. her stomach burned and hollered, lamenting the agony she had subjected it to in letting that vile behemoth's claws seek such depths. this wasn't right, what was happening to her, why--
jaws parted, a soundless scream as her throat filled and bubbles sprung uselessly into the void. water? was she...drowning?
a frantic thrash, limbs sluggish in the dim as her mind swam. she had died, the bear it had killed...it had killed them all. she'd seen them, her parents too, and osiris, leta, west tyree....west, where was he? even in death was she cursed, doomed? banished to suffer eternal purgatory, alone. terror feasted greedily upon her torment as she arched and winced. he'd been there, so close.....his scent caressing her into the then inviting silk touch of eternal sleep and now....
was she crying? she did not know, it felt like she was.
at least the clarity was fading...she was starting..starting to feel heavy again, drowsy even. she sighed, shudders ceasing
'west tyree , where are you , west tyree --....--...-.....'
dreadful spluttering as she awakened, frozen and soaked to the bone; a dejected lump on the side of a mockingly merry stream. "west-!" it wrenched itself from her jaws with shocking ardour before her eyes had so much as revealed themselves to these alien surroundings. limbs burned with uncomfortable reserves of energy; springing her almost without say from the liquid's chilling clutch as she stood dripping and perplexed amongst tranquil shrubs.
where was she?? was this supposed to be, some sort of afterlife? it seemed so ridiculously absurd, everything so....mundane and real. yet it was certainly not the teekons and bleeding out on the ground was not the state one usually tended to decide to take a merry little trip in. she had to find west tyree that was all that mattered if she could just find....
find who?
had she not just, recalled his name right there? or, recalled who's name? shivering, she fell back onto haunches and hunched her shoulders, frowning hard at the ground. did she just forget something? it felt like her mind had just hitched, hopped across something important that thudded desperately behind a walled chamber to little avail. a noise sounded off to her side and the dove straightened, blinking off to see a few birds hopping across the carpeted stones; fond smile gracing angular features.
yawning, she blinked down at her soaked self with a few disconcerted blinks. "huh, i'm wet, how..." a glance to the stream as she pushed to a stand and prowled a few cautious steps closer "did i...fall in a stream? strange i, where am i?"
nothing was familiar and yet in that moment, polaris could not even recall why so and what events had landed her here. brows simply furrowed as she glanced across the lands, all she knew was that something felt wrong, missing.
