"I noticed while there is prey on the island, but nothing medium or large game." There weren't too many to the leviathans claim, though there was one woman who was behind, it normally continued to be @Kei and Vendrussel who scavenged around the lands ; marking away from outsiders, even if they could not completely get them to leave, they tried. 

Often times she roamed outside the claim though, as the area was a generally safe place. Not many could see the sacred land inside the serpentine spires, and even if they could see so, it was tricky to get in without the right path. Depending on the tide, the occasional swimming would be needed, or they would have to completely paddle their way over. Who would desire to do that?

She flung her paws over a peering boulder, hanging around the inner sanctions of the land itself. The isle of the lan. Her head rolling around to face the black dragon a bit of ways, "you seen anything?"

So Venny had gotten her to stay. To think that she too now lived amongst the salty breeze and wet rock, it was different and something she was definitely still getting used to. Her muscles ached from the swimming and adjusting to the slippery rocks she was forced to walk on occasionally, but overall she seemed to be doing well. Every day the duo would find themselves off exploring some new part of the island, though there were a few concerns that would need to be settled.

Shelter, water, and a permanent food source. If Vendrussel really wanted to live out here then they needed to find something that would suit more than just the two of them. They needed to support a pack. So far she had slept in various damp caverns, though some seemed to go with the tide, and the others were uh...cramped. Even for a wolf of her size. Water was all around them, but most of the pools she found had the bite of salt from the sea. Then prey...

It was just as her friend said. Small things scavenged amongst the light foliage of the woods that found roots in the center of the rocky haven, but birds and rabbits only held you off for so long. “Not really. Not on shore at least.” There had been the fish that found themselves trapped in shallow pools, or hugged the shallow waters that bordered their rocky land, and then there were the seals. Large and fatty, but all too quick in the sea.

She recalled sharing one with a wolf from Event Horizon, but it had been dead when they encountered it. Hunting would be a different story. “Seals roam these waters. Maybe other things, but we'd need a way to hunt them.” A way that was possible with just two of them.

"Hunting seals seem the most optimal source of pack hunting." Though she had yet to see any, Vendrussel believed there would be some around, especially as they were closer to the arctic. Seals always found joy in such waters, and she knew by definite that would mean some were near, and yet, she had not had the fortunate to see. A paw glazing against the smooth rock, dampen from the coastal shore as the sea-salt grinded against so.

"Should we look on the other side for them?" though the front has been explored, and days out they've been finding more and more about the island.. There was still much to see, to name, to claim, to simply know it was on the island. She wondered if perhaps the tides been taken away, revealing more to the island then they previously knew. Some part of it, was always above waters, but when the ocean was calm, more into the sand that they could see. She looked at Kei and suggested so, body already moving upwards ; she was pretty much going regardless.

“For a pack, sure—” But they were two wolves. It may be feasible for them to take down a beast, but they were much larger up close. “I think you may be forgetting something.” So often Venny spoke like she already had what she sought, but the islands were bare. No true caches, no dens, no extra paws. Just them. Still, she followed and would let her eyes travel along the shores. Many of the edges of the leviathan were jagged and rough, but some of the smaller islands and slopes into the sea were flat, though varied.

They just might be perfect for some seals to rest. “I've seen them sprawl out flat on land. They'll probably rest where the shore is more comfortable and flat, but we could also climb up for a better vantage point.” Worst case, they didn't find a seal but they might be able to see more of the land they were working with if they could climb one of the spires.

"Aren't we so? Though nameless, the bundle of two or three are but a pack. A few stragglers behind, they should come eventually." She thought of @Monarch who ended up coming along with Vendrussel, but some point did they part. Though truth she left with words that the dragon was heading to the northern shores, a place that seemed like a calling of the leviathans themselves, and so surely, the woman of creams and light rubies should find them relatively easy, especially if the scent would be familiar. 

"A dragonford of sorts we claim," to the truth of their heritage, they were both of dragons, a ford of so as their land stakes into these rocks with little life. However, it was their life. She pushed off the rock, a paw leaning forward and giving a tip to her step, like a small catwalk as she muse the name with thought, a smile to her face while circling near Kei.

"Even if they aren't, the beaches beyond flourish in prey, and the waters with fish. We'll survive." She said in confidence.

“Two is pair, not a pack.” Even three she'd hesitate to label as such, yet Venny insisted that others would follow in the wake. Where these wolves were she wasn't sure because she sure as hell hadn't seen them. There was that one guy who had been looking for Vendrussel, but she hadn't seen him since she wandered the shore. “If they come.” The shadow muttered under her breath as she looked elsewhere.

“Call it what you want, we still can't hunt seals when it's just the two of us.” The sea dragon had a point though, even without the seals they still had the sea at their door. She couldn't say fish was her favorite meal, but she certainly didn't mind it either. They would last them, or at least long enough for their small "pack" to find another source of food. “Any luck finding a water source yet? There are trees near the center of the island that means water has to be around somewhere.”

"If so destiny permits, we shall be more." She couldn't deny there wasn't any true worry about becoming a true pack or not, for her dream only guided her to these rocks, and no where else. She had hoped some kind of destiny would unearth itself, yet since the fated day those who guided her remained silent. Vendrussel shouldn't expect more to come, but she felt a little lost how they sent her to a serpentine land without further more, but a simple 'find me' ; and so she did, and here she claimed with another.

If more were to come, she could deny their calling, but a test of trials would always be needed. What more to give ones own life in trust to the alpha dragoness then one of plundering into the depths of water? May the water bearer guide them so.

She shook her head, "I've seen occasional small prey here as well," though not in an abundancy where they could hunt freely without extincting them from the island, "I imagine it's inland."

Had she known her friend's thoughts she might accuse her of being more stubborn than herself, but she was no mind reader and there was far too much to consider to focus on what Vendruessel might think of it all. She too had seen small prey scurrying around the rocks, but it could only last so long, even if there were only two now. “Mice only go so far. We might overhunt the woods.” But again, it would last for now. Starving wasn't a concern considering they were surrounded by fish, but she did not wish to kill the population of the island either. “I think I'll try hunting along the shore. I've noticed water pools linger when the tide is low. Sometimes things get trapped in the shallow pools.”

"I'll look for a fishing spot. Maybe a school of them likes a certain area." She was right though, while small prey can fill them so much, there was more of a chance to simply clean them off the island. It was far better to find a stable source of food.. Most likely would be relying on the waters to grant them a supplement. There was the occasional off-land hunting they could do, but larger game was a more difficult time to bring back if the tides were high, and even then, the water could topple over what they try to drag over.

With the two deciding on their urgency of food, Vendrussel split off.

Kei could only offer a nod to Vendrussel's declaration. The sea dragon peeled away from her side destined for where the rocky shores grew flat leaving her by herself, but she knew she too could not stop here. She would continue her path up the jagged rock structure that stood like a spire. If Venny was going to look up close then it would probably be better for her to look for what she could from above so they didn't waste time crossing paths. They could share their findings later.
