Tsukiishi was safe, and he was confident that Shiroshika would be able to reclaim their frozen spires before Winter came creeping in. Quicksilver and his scouting party turned toward home; he had a good feeling, and was eagerly anticipating delivering the good news to his mate. Afterward, when they'd ironed out the finer details of the trip they'd take in the near future (there were little ones to consider, after all), he figured they'd bring their comrades together to discuss the plan.

The druid excused himself from the scouts as they began their ascent of the trickster's pass, and he trailed the length of his body along the bark of almost every tree he passed by. After a few days beyond his home, Quicksilver felt that his mark on the mountain needed to be fresh. He lifted a hind leg to urinate here and there, then pressed on with a spring in his stride to reunite with his mate and cubs.

A soft, low call was emitted as he rounded toward the densite. He saw Filavandrel lounging in the afternoon sun as he drew nearer, and could've sworn his firstborn had doubled in size since last he saw him. “Guess who's back,” he called out to @Reiko, @Vienne and @Yaevinn, his eyes bright and ears pricked forward as he prepared himself for the rally of his most beloved.

He was feeling sleepy, though was quick to react when his father's voice drew him from the temptation of slumber. Filavandrel gathered to his over-sized paws and padded with enthusiasm to greet the sterling Emperor, his tail swishing with excitement as he pressed his little body lovingly between his alabaster forelimbs.

Filavandrel loped toward him, followed closely by his mother. Quicksilver welcomed both his mate and little son to him with an affectionate croon, though it was Reiko who reached to embrace him. He welcomed her touch, had longed for it in his short absence. The druid closed his eyes as she pressed her weight to him, smiling to himself as he buried his nose among the snowy white of her dense furs and inhaled deep.

She commented on the scent he carried, something he knew she'd yearned for, and was glad to provide a sampling of their future. Soon, he was sure, they would claim her Silver Towers. Soon, they would bring Shiroshika's wolves home to where they belonged.

“I missed you,” he told her first, because it was important. Quicksilver withdrew to seek the sky blue of Reiko's eyes, then glanced over her slim shoulders to search for any sign of their other two cubs. They had not emerged; he figured they were likely asleep within the den. He rose a paw and batted playfully at Filavandrel, then turned focus solely on his mate as he lowered to his haunches. They had much to discuss. “Tsukiishi stands strong,” he announced, “we found no sign of the tiger having been there. There was a loner, but he made no effort to claim the mountains.” Quicksilver blinked, searching his snowflower's face for enthusiasm, “they will belong Shiroshika again.”
