 He didn't have to be called. He could sense the gloom hanging over the mountain; something had happened. There was something in the air that told him. Alexei floated along the Tsukiishi, looking for whatever seemed to call out. Along the grove, he found her. And she was not alone. Sorrow befell him, tangling in his bones and throughout his face, making it fall with a heavy weight, a frown forming in his maw. Snow fell over them, decorating the scene with a somber aura. His heart felt like an anchor, the same way his body felt when he was being tugged towards the bottom of the ocean, being beaten with each wave downwards to rock bottom. 

 It took the fisherman a minute to go to her side, to aid with comfort. When he found himself there, he leaned his head down and laid a few of the lone cherry blossom petals over the cub, then stepped back, sitting down at Reiko's side. He didn't say anything. Some things were better left silent. Maybe she'd just know what he felt, what he meant. The man leaned against her, providing his warmth, bare without the pelt that usually hung around his shoulders, and offered his own weight for her to collapse into.
