The hours turned into days.

Then, days became weeks.

In that time, the imprisoned palantír (who was already quite prone to melancholy) grew morose. Resigned to the fact that she was due to live out the rest of her life amongst the din of the walrus clan, she held little hope for any comfort or small happinesses to befall her. Everything here was foreign. The foods were rotten, and lacked the nourishing warmth that her frail body craved. She stared out at nothingness, unmoving save for the chill that wracked her body, and let the woman @Pearl move her about at will. The woman was frigid and quickly grew emaciated; the fire in her dimming and dying, hour by hour, day by miserable day.

In the meantime, she entertained herself with thoughts of @Tiberius.

The waif tried not to think of (what might amount to) her last moments with him; it was a horrid memory, a stain on what could have been a beautiful thing between them. The titan had promised to fight any beast for, but she hadn't sought to earnestly test his promise, and not so soon into the lifecycle of what was a nascent, but still blooming, rose. The shadowed wolf looked the very picture of shock and horror as he lashed and struck out at the king of monsters, and then Olive would think how @Riannon had pitched herself in the black, yawning abyss in order to retrieve her — had any of her would-be-heroes made it out alive? Olive had seen the forms of distant wolves upon the shore once, but she couldn't be sure it was her friends.

and besides, that was a long time ago at this point.

Instead, the Shakti woman let memories dance before her eyes as it they were real as day, and not solely visions. She could imagine the titan's ministrations so clearly that she could almost feel his touch upon her, and the gravel of his drawl in her ear. She also thought of @benry and @Archon and cried for them often, imagining them to be lost, with no one to tether them. She wondered of Riannon, who had given her hearth and home, the tangled threads of whom she was only beginning to unravel. She thought often of that one, electric moment between the two women, with words never needing to be spoken but their touch holding a thousand meanings —

After hours spent in reverie, she always came back to the nullifying realization that this was all in the past. It was over. Therefore, if she didn't spend the time to remember the creatures who meant so much to her, they might stop existing... even if only to her.

She couldn't let herself forget how strongly she loved, and continued to love, those around her; even if she was upon this wasted spit of land for eternity. Let the mighty @Boomba Bes stop her, if he wanted to. The woman lifted her quivering lips to the sky and drew out a broken, mournful howl. Not to call for anyone or communicate a message (for she fully believed no one was listening), but to simply hear herself, and be reminded that she still existed.

they were taking too long. they were discussing, plans, delaying, stalling.

he hated that. he felt his mind running out of his ears every moment that delayed. he was rarely a creature of action, but this was pressed upon him, desperate.

he skidded out to the ice, uncertain in ever step he took — where was he even going? — when he heard the howl.

he knew her voice by now, even through the species barrier that made all the howls nothing but gibberish to him.

unsure of her direction initially in the large whiteness that spread the noise out, he screamed back, caterwauling less like one of his own kind in heat but more like a housecat unsure of where its owner is, pining and sad and confused.

In the midst of stuffing his face with pounds of fish, he heard his prize let out a howl. The woman was ungrateful, day by day she grew smaller and smaller, uglier and uglier the slimmer she got. How dare she not smile at Boomba's generosity.

This woman needed to be put in her place and taught a lesson.

Massurated fish fell from his maw, putrid remains falling to the floor, as he immediately stopped what he was doing. Jolting himself into motion, Boomba squeezed out a noxious fart, rattling his flubber, as he flubbed his way to the woman.

This bitch would be taught a lesson.

"Ungrateful wench, stop your cry, u get made into coat, then you die." , throwing his weight into her, he would attempt to belly bounce her into the frigid water. That would snap some sense into her.

Without seeing if he was successful or not, his massive skull rotated to the sound of a feline yowl on the horizon, it seemed to answer her call.

"Seems like friends come to find! They shall die and you still be mine!"

Many had arrived, in the time of need. Faces that were both familiar and unfamiliar and yet all came for a purpose — to save what was stolen. A boss came through, some reason abducting a wolf from the land. Uriel couldn't let an innocent wolf suffer and joined the fray ; ending up in a longer battle that was not meant to be. Solidified, within stance that the priority was to save the woman, rather then the fight ahead. But of course there was the few that hung in the background, a need of vengeance stemming from their various souls to the point that even beasts, were brought to the help.

Storming to the coast did the group follow, wolves, felines, and even a bear came to the aid. They were just at time though, perhaps a second sooner it would've been too late. She felt some relief on urging to go forward, with or without a plan. So many to boost their plan to rescue, and all that was really needed was to get her.

Dashing through the wastelands, Uriel felt her heart drum. A beat unfamiliar as now too deep to truly leave, and felt obliged to the end, not only to see it through, but to help. The walrus, the beast by the name of Boomba looked to be tired as he flopped to, yelling on to words she did not catch besides sensing he was now done with his toy, as he then attemped to push her through the waters.

Uriel charged — she had no battle experience, but by the Gods, did she know how to run.

With exactly her tools at her disposal, Uriel was quickfooted, pacing her way through the surprised Walrus's as already distracted, by the feline that rushed ahead without the others. Her ears flattened at his sound, a cry that wasn't like a roar and pierced through the ears. It stung, she heard a long beeping but urged on.

She hoped to grab Olive before falling to the waters, and if not, dive after her.

Wolf would not eat, even at Pearl's desperate attempt. When she would not eat and grow frail, Pearl would tried to substitute by adding various of 'beauty products.' Seaweed, mud, leaves, branches, sand, random shells.. Whatever to appease Boomba, for now the lady would not smile, and only had this dead, and hopeless look. Like all of Pearl's coats before, and yet still did not have permission just yet.

There was a chortle from her, as he seemed finally sick. The harem ladies knew it wouldn't last, for wolf could bring no children, nor pleasure! Was just a beauty to be displayed, rather then actually used. Except her attention was then caught by a ringing sound, ungodly, and Pearl turned toward the beast.

"Sound ugly, look ugly."

First his bloodshot bulging eyes caught sight of the source of the yowling. Then suddenly, darting in another wolf zoomed to the aide of Boombas prize. Chortling with anger Boomba jiggled quickly in the direction of Uriel looking to smash her into paste on the ice. How dare she touch Boomba's prize.

"You in the way, now you pay!"

Winding up for a smash another force came crashing into his neck rolls. Pain! Bad! Latched on to him: a dark heavy wolf thrashed at his flesh. Good thing Boomba had plenty to spare.

"Grahaha! No! Smash! "

Changing his momentum from the initial smash, he now aimed it at Tiberius aiming to land down hard on his side, smashing the puny wolf.

He had to admit, there was something charming about being in a 'pack' even though it was temporary, for once he wasn't in this alone. Staying silent he followed In toe with Tiberius, while avoiding eye contact with the other Shrioshikan.

The many footsteps on the snow was almost rythmic as the warband moved forward. Eventually, the target was in site. It was a massive hulking beast, a behemoth with tusks. Thrax wasn't joking back then when he said it would be a challenge.

Awaiting some sort of plan, immediately, he watched Tib and the Blonde wolf take off with steaming fury. Maybe this was how wolves hunted: no plan. After a moment Kuhn took off to cover the titian.

Tiberius was fearless, imidiately latching on to the massive beast, sending blood every which way. For a moment Kuhn admired him, fair and wise, yet unquestionably ferocious if need be. He was the sort of soul who deserved to be followed. Kuhn reconned, if he where a wolf he would want to follow someone like that.

Arriving a moment later, Boomba's counter was coming down. The tiger took this as an opportunity to split to the other side and jump up on to the other side of the monsters flabby neck. Claws and teeth pierced as deep as they could, yet not vitals could be found, only the taste of leathery hide and fat. Hopefully, the half ton cat's weight could be enough to slow the beast's attack just enough for Tiberius to sidestep the smash. If the obviously hardened wolf needed the help at all...

Elowyn had grabbed all her medical supplies and carried them. She closed the pack, as she didn't intend to fight the walruses. She had no clue what these creatures were until now. As she approached she saw massive beasts with out legs and huge teeth! Wow! She almost dropped her herbs at the sight of the beasts. The female was not a fighter, but a healer, hence why she stopped a safe distance to overview the battle.

Her heart hammered in her throat. Not for herself or that she feared she was in danger but mostly for her husband Anteon. Okay, and a little for the captive female. But mostly her husband, if he would be killed then she would... what would she do? Females never lead alone, it was the husband that was the main act. She was just there to support his leadership, as she would support him now in this battle. She watched as others went to attack. She had never seen a battle up close like this.

You can skip Elowyn until she is needed as a medic, she will be hanging back and out of reach.

He knew the story, knew the man was in love and wanted to save the beloved woman. In his sorrow, in his rage, he had rallied others... or at least, that was how the bear would picture it. The perfect story with --hopefully-- the perfect storybook ending. The damsel saved and the villain vanquished.

That was why he was here although he hadn't known that there would really be no plan.

Ah well, back in his glory days he seldom went in with a plan. He just went in with his bulk. He had warned Kuhn of the large beast's power and had experience on his own side. He was the largest among them and the wolves were so very delicate. One bite and it would be over for them. So, he knew he needed to play a primary part in helping to distract and fight the beast.

As he ran with Kuhn and with Tiberius, he felt his heart flutter and adrenaline pump in his veins like in his youth. They had taken him out of retirement and he was here for blood

There was the beast and his harem, and there was golden Uriel rushing in to save the starved she-wolf. At her emaciation, the polar bear felt a righteous rage. How dare this beast be so abusive? So terrible? He didn't use words as Tiberius did and instead rushed up. He was slower than the younger warriors but would come to their aid.

He let out a fearsome roar as he raised a paw and with the entire weight in his massive body, threw a hefty smack towards the side of Boomba's face to hopefully knock some sense out of him... or into him, whichever you pleased. His ice-blue eye glistened red with rage, giving credence once more to his last name.

Her song had not yet died upon her lips, when a sound greeted her above the din of the harem. It, almost immediately, piqued her far-dulled senses and her voice got lost in her ever-so-parched throat, cutting off abruptly in favor of drinking in the caterwauling that came from afar. Or, was it afar? If it were far away, it wouldn't have been so clear that the voice belonged to Benry — if he were far away, she wouldn't have been able to recognize the distress in his cry so easily.

Her lips fell away from one another, her mouth agape, her heart blooming with sudden hope and golden light; only to have it sink and clench when his wretched voice boomed behind her, saying a series of words that struck terror into her. Then, there was nothing but a glacial darkness and the oppressive weight of water all around her.

The sea sludge that obscured her entire pale, paltry coat was in her eyes — she splashed about, forelegs cutting through the arctic waters like frantic knives, unsure if pain and death was coming from above, or below, or if it was coming at all. Olive had known her time would come soon, for her existence was proving to be rather disappointing to the walrus king and his main hag; but it seemed to be the ultimate injustice to choose this particular moment, and to steal this slight happiness from her. Oh Benry—

When the panicked waif finally did feel the presence of another, she immediately recognized it as something other than her oppressors. Where walruses (she had unfortunately come to learn) were rotund and muscular, this was refined and detailed, with thin limbs and fur that felt so soft. Immediately recognizing the opportunity, Olive lapsed into pure instinct and trust; she allowed herself to be guided by the other and she tried to swim as fast as she could, meanwhile blinking her eyes and washing them of the grit. When there was ice in front of her, she hooked her front paws on the shelf and then a back leg, hoisting herself up with a strength and determination she didn't know she had anymore.

The tumult above the water was worse than anything she had ever heard in this lifetime. Roars of various different animals filled her ears and her mind swam with confusion, and the frail wolfess coughed and sputtered the water from her lungs (she was a mountain climber, never a swimmer!), forcefully readying herself to engage in whatever battle raged on around her. Relief did not flood her body as she took in the scene. In truth, she felt far from relief — all she felt was a crazed sense of rightfulness and justice seize her body as she saw the kaleidoscopic group that waged war against the impenetrable Boomba, helmed by the same dark titan that had been the subject of so many daydreams, who was now enraged and mad with fury.

Fury for her.

The sodden woman, shivering with the desire for revenge (not the cold), looked for the wolf who had saved her from the waters to ensure she too had been recovered, and without another thought, leapt into the chaos.

She dived — as the woman plunged to the icy shores and feeling the cold penetrate her fur. By no means was Uriel an Arctic wolf, rather she didn't know her origins and assumed to be a mixture of many. Her fur wasn't as plush as someone within the north, and by no means light enough at times to survive ; as her golden pelt ended up being a sore thumb. Even now it didn't let her get away as the beast huddled over, walking through with a vengeance for touching a 'prize.' It disgusted her, thinking that something like life is being called a prize.

Distraction as Tiberius flashed his fangs to the beast in a fury, she turned back to focusing on Olive and taking her out of the water. A reassuring of licks, a comforting, that they were here, here to save her — ! Most importantly, Uriel wasn't part of the group of attacking, her sole focus was to take the white priestess away.

She started to urge the girl to move, gently using her head to try and push her toward the opposite direction of the fight, while also having her shoulder, prepped to carry the other on a leaning of. Uriel didn't have the strength to truly carry away, but she could be support. There was a flash of looking around, silver eyes gauging if anyone else would come an assist in this moment, before Boomba refocused his attention on them.

They had gathered themselves a bit of an army now. Ragnar had gathered a few allies of wolven kind and those others and even more had gathered allies of their own- both wolf, bear, tiger and cougar (who happened to be known quite the natural enemy of wolves). It was quite a sight to see such creatures all together and it reminded Ragnar how he had appeared here in these lands by some sort of teleportation. This would truly was magical.

Ragnar stood by the Medic of Windmere, for it was her and her husband which Ragnar had recruited along the side of Valmua. For a minute he watched as the large black wolf made for a full attack as distraction so that Uriel could try and sweep Olive away. The polar followed in attack and then a great tiger which Ragnar smirked to- now he smelt awfully familiar.

No time for that however- Ragnar placed himself where his efforts would be best of use while the walrus was distracted by some pretty hefty beasts. The seafarer goes to Olive and the golden scout, aiming to cut Olive off from going into the offense as Uriel tries to usher her away. Ragnar would play as the barrier between, even if it means a bit of an ass chewing (maybe literally) from Olive's end.

"Wolf do not take coat!" As Boomba was left to face the more brutal side.. Pearl, not entirely loyal enough to sacrifice her very own life for him did not help. But she knew if the small chance he did survive, she would most likely get some blame for not doing anything. As he was left to deal with not only a tiger, but a bear from the wilds.. She turned toward two golden wolves alongside of the fair lady.

She started to move as Ragnar faced to the war itself, and lifted a paw to strike him down! Best get pretty lady before she tries to leave with other lady! That was her coat!

All at once the hoarde of tinys was upon him, dragging his head down, one by one weighing on him.  Latched to his neck and head in every which way. Tearing, thrashing.

That was when the great Boomba knew fear.

Inch by inch, his head was being forced down by a number of creatures, then the great bear delivered a stunning blow to the head sending blood and skin flying. "No!" Boomba proclaimed, perhaps some sense had been rung into him: Boomba cannot loose, he is the strongest.

In that moment of clarity Boomba's resolve was hardened, rearing up in all 3000 pounds, he immediately sent the half ton cat flying with little effort; disregarding the flesh that the cat took with him.  Shaking off the rest of the assailants in whichever way they happened to be dislodged. He was once a gain a blot on the sun as he stood towering above the rest, blood and fat oozing from various wounds.  It was time for Boomba's signature move.

"HE HE HE!" he chortled reinvigorated, rearing back.     "BOOM!"

Simultaneously, Boomba slammed his frame down on the ice sending a plume snow and shards of ice in every direction, and if he smashed someone to bloody paste underneath him than so be it.

There had been born solidarity from the fright and terror of one lonely wolf. For her part, Valmúa had been taking mental notes, for she had never seen those from this many walks of life come to rescue a person that many of them had never even met. It all could have been a cruel trick to lure the best and finest to their doom.
But it was not. The red warrior knew that from the howl and answering caterwaul that sounded from the depths of the icescape. She had not understood the passion that Tiberius held as he went forth until she could see him at the front lines of this insanity. Though she didn't know the reasons why, it was clear almost immediately that he had more stake in this fight than any of them. Valmúa changed nothing based on this new information. She simply went on, stuck firmly at the side of @Kuhn while he moved forward. Had she been in charge, things would have gone differently.
Valmúa was a planner. She had imagined the group of wolves attacking from one side, and then the power-heavy beasts such as Kuhn and Thrax from the other when the beasts had not expected it. But that was not how things had worked out.
When Kuhn attacked, Valmúa hung back, watching as the target to save was in the water with Uriel, wondering if she might help, but instead waiting for an opening.
As the others strove forward to attack and met their mark, the red woman was left watching in disdain and anger, waiting for some shoe to drop. It did at last when the great beast reared on terrible and nonsensical legs, slamming its body into the ice. Pieces of icy glass flew through the air. She dodged. At least one hit her arm, but she did not notice in the rush of adrenaline.
Amidst the tossing of heads and fright and anger and rage and fury, Valmúa launched herself at the back of the great walrus's neck, pulling her legs in close. She hoped without speaking that someone might take his throat as she pulled to end this terrible madness.

Her frantic attempts to leap into the assault were consistently blockaded by the golden guardian; stymied in a gentle yet coercive way. At some intuitive level, Olive innately understood — this group of warriors had gathered to save her, and if she indeed perished, they would have gathered for naught. This, however, was not her priority at the moment.

Such a concern was immediately squelched by the sights and the sounds of the titan Tiberius, tearing away at the thrashing pinniped, totally unconcerned for his own welfare. She trusted that the tiger or the polar bear or any of the other warriors were more useful in a fight than she; but no one would be more dedicated to protecting the inkdark man than she was. She bucked and whined frantically against Uriel's bigger form, becoming increasingly frustrating at her moves being blocked, and for Uriel not immediately understanding what Olive did suddenly did: that she would die for Tiberius, as much as he was willing to die for her.

The stormborn man from Northfall was with them next, and suddenly, Olive saw the futility of her efforts. As long as the gilded pair were spent keeping her in line, their efforts could not be lent to the assault upon Boomba. She would not deign to sabotage her own rescue efforts. Her pacing and barking ceased, falling away in an instant; but her heart continued to thrum in her ears as she bellowed "Kill him!" from the sidelines. If all she could add was her venomous intention, and simply not stand in the way of those who came to rescue her, then she would abide —

Amidst a sudden and unexplained plume of snow, the hulking, lumbering form of Pearlemerged at them at them, and immediately the fear of re-capture rose like bile in her throat. It came out of her in the form of a scream, knowing that three wolves alone could not successfully take down a middling-sized walrus such as the putrid queen. Olive turned sharply, pressing a shoulder and a head into whatever parts of Ragnar and Uriel she could, urging them away, not trusting the bravado of such valiant heroes to know better.

"Move! Go!" the waif barked as she espied the far-off form of Riannon. In the next second she had flitted away to her friend's side, a shaking dove returning home to roost to watch the fearsome battle from afar.

Everything was a blur around him, all except the walrus. He was in clear focus as his claws connected with the side of his face. The surge of energy. Of strength that fell into his body at the action. He hadn't felt this way in years. To feel the flesh of the foe be carved away by the powerful swings of his paws. It was intoxicating.

He dropped down onto all four paws heavily, then he reared in deviance at the walrus. He could see the white wolf hanging from the jaws of the beast like some sort of faraway thing. He could hear words being spoken like an annoying buzzing in his ears. He just knew to help stop the beast, its reign of terror.

He saw the walrus plunge down. The motion fast and slow all at the same time.

His mind was clouded with the rush of battle. He could feel the youthfulness pulling at his mind, the want to rend and tear. He didn't run. He rose in an attempt to meet the walrus.

All at once, reality came crashing back down.

He was no longer young. His body could not hold the many ton beast. He would never be in his prime again and as the beast crashed down, he folded under it.

He screamed in agony as he was smashed onto his back underneath Boomba. The red haze of battle faded from his eyes as he snapped to his senses and realized the predicament that he was in. Blood bubbled from his mouth and nose and felt as if he couldn't breathe. Was he going to suffocate here?

Could he at least distract the beast until his life faded away?

He snapped his fangs weakly at any ounce of jiggling fat that he could get to. Aiming to grab and hold, to keep the walrus preoccupied to try to help the others.

It was the very least he could do.

Sent backward away from the fight, his time airborne seemed eternal. Dazed by the sudden whiplash, the cat wasn't able to right himself. Then impact, coming down hard on his shoulder. A jolt of anger and pain rushed through him as he bounced airborne again, sent tumbling. Sliding across the ice, the large cat could finally center himself, digging claws into the ice, until he came to a stop.

Then he heard it, the massive thud of flesh and the crackling ice. After the cloud of snow and ice settled, he saw it. Reacting with a visceral roar, "Thrax!"

Back in his feet he restarted his momentum, aiming to get back in the fight. His princessa was impressive, clinging to the neck of the beast, aiming to leverage it back. Taking her lead, Kuhn essentially leapt onto her back, sinking his fangs into the hulking beast, inches from his lover's.

Straddling the wolf, he buried his claws into the beast's blubber, tensing around her. For a moment he could feel her breath as he pressed against her, smelling her scent intertwined with blood and battle, his heart pounded. Pitching himself back, adding to her attack, they could do this... together.

Her heart sunk seeing that the other walrus joined the fray, while the rest of the harem seemed to keep at bay and dipped to the watery depths. A queen? Of grotesque, rolls chortling forward as she demanded their cease — but at the very least, with much urging did Olive exit the the battle. With weakness did she run, and even at the attempt of urging herself and the other golden man, Uriel, at the very least, continued staying.

Within her shaking boots and fear of death itself — their first task was now over. A safety, as the Princess to be saved dived in the arms of the healers that stood far in the back, awaiting for others to come forward. Yet she was no longer the only victim, as at the corner of her gray eyes did she see the impatient feline who rushed into the war before any of them, fell to the icy depths.

The female walrus tried to use a flipper to slam them, and with urging did Uriel try to shrug at @Ragnar 's shoulder to move from this hitting, as she dodge to run within this icy plains. Moving quick — a self declared lifebuoy, and even though that he was no longer under.. He stood there, cold and shivering, confused ; Uriel dashed to the fellow, a body of comfort as she tried to press her head upon his. A shoving, really, an urging to head to the same direction as Olive as he no longer, seemed to be able to truly participate. To @benry she would whisper, "she is safe, let's go,"

Even though she could not battle, she would take away those who can no longer fight.

Pearl was going to try and dominate the two golden ones, and yet the female attempted to move the other, before dashing help to one of the fallen comrades. She was fully ready to continue her barrage back, and follow the one who started to move.. Yet when she glanced over and saw the state that Boomba was becoming, thoughts swirled whether it truly was worth the risk.

And thus she decided, it was not.

"Pearl leaves now," she wouldn't risk her hide if the king was about to die. But the dilemma would come on finding a new male. There was an angered look shot over to the fighting group, as the female Walrus made her way to the edges of the water.. And fled.

It seemed the battle within Olive's self to fight back against her captures finally came to ease after Ragnar's joining of Uriel. The two golden and blonde wolves keeping the pallid woman at bay. It was her screech which sounded the alarm next, bring Ragnar's attention to swirl around the meet Olive now. She and Uriel, quick of footing began to usher Ragnar away as one angry walrus came paddling into the direction. Of course, a wolf on land was faster then any walrus, wet ice or not.

Ragnar was able to avoid the smack of a flipper at him though when the bull walrus slammed his body into the glacier, Ragnar felt his grip on the ice slip. He fell over and bounced, hitting the ice hard but immediately his legs were scrambling from under himself in order to regain his barring. In doing so, he hears the cries of others, the growls, the roars. Ragnar once lifted whips his head back around to the female walrus, sure that she had caught up with him. But no, she was fleeing, unwilling to risk her own hide which meant that they must be winning.

Ragnar turns round, icy eyes narrowing. He blinks hard and lifts a paw, whipping the blood at the side of his head and face. “The fu-” The polar bear had actually gotten squashed by the walrus, something which Ragnar had never before seen and doubted so he ever would again.

With Valmua on the bull's back and her feline straddled over her, two other wolves went for the walrus front in- one at the eyes and the large black fellow from under, tearing at the beast's throat. With Olive safely out of harm's way and Uriel tending to the wet puss, Ragnar takes pace into the fray.

Running in, he comes along to the side of the walrus at a 'v' angle. His intentions are to grab at the backside of one of the walrus front flippers, in order to hold it and keep him from being able to slap at his attackers at the front end to that their success would be more certain.
