No one had to tell him what happened to his god. Others of the pack may have worried, thrown around guesses, but Draco had sat silently, content in knowing what he knew. He had slipped from the maw, from the pack lands, unnoticed. Now with the stars of fangs watching his back, he knew he could wander wherever he wanted with permission.
The always grinning wolf had gone through the mountains and had found himself now on even land. The temperature had gotten colder, and even in his delusional mind, he could take a safe guess that he was heading north. Not too far off in the distance, and Draco felt his legs drawn towards it. Even though he wasn’t actually thirsty, he could imagine the feeling of water running down his throat, cold and cool as it curled in his belly.
Eventually he found himself on the shore, and before taking a drink, he found himself staring down at his appearance. Back in the marshy lands where he had met Satchel, he hadn’t truly been able to see his face, but in this clear, still water, he could make out everything. The scars that had bonded him to his god, the smile that She had gifted him - it truly was glorious.
