The skies were clear as the sun began to shine above, the air crisp and cool; peaceful and undisturbed.
That is, until a loud and guttural groan burst from a figure that had been slumbering, his large body quaking as he awoke and joined the land of the living. A dark nose twitched, nostrils flaring at the chill that spread through his hunkered body and he couldn’t help but shiver. “Mor oer!...” his words were broken and harsh, whispered to no one as he fought to gain clarity and right himself.
Iced eyes were slow to open, his blinks slow and somnolent. They were full of delayed confusion as he took in the sights around him - he was not where he’d been when he’d fall asleep. He may have been delirious and halfway mad with fever but he knew enough… This was not his home.
More raspy groans were heard as Caspian pulled himself upright, shoulders cracking and stretching as he leaned forward before bringing himself to a stand. He started to shake himself off, irritated by the flakes of ice that clung to him before a sharp pain made him hiss in pain. Immediately, his attention was turned to his hind leg that was stained red and home to a nice ol’ laceration. It was jagged and gods, did it hurt. It was almost like the one he’d gotten weeks prior.. That was supposed to have been healed.
Huh.
The beast of a man barked out a laugh at the irony, his face still a grimace from pain. He didn’t know where he was, what time it was and or even what he was but he didn’t panic. Instead, he focused on the pain and ire that roared within him and let that ground him. Let that focus him. He’d huff and give a snap of his jaws before turning to look around, inspecting.
Ah! He wasted no time and headed over to the small stream that lay nearby and would aim to dip his wound. It was an awkward attempt and he was a mess of limbs , curses and grumbles erupting from him. Eventually the man found it easier to just lay in it with the upper half of his body still on dry land and let the running water do its thing. Caspian was no medic but he knew the cold would feel better and he was cleaning it… right? Yes. That sounded right.
