I've been on some sites that have a list of prompts that are dead-set on what to do for gathering skills. Canis is much more creative, but I found as a new member at a time I also sucked at coming up with Prompts to do. This is to help move a skill thread along or make new ones with prompts you haven't thought of. While not a concrete guide on "how to get skills", this should assist in skill threads and give you a general idea of what to expect to gain the Skill.
I'll be starting with the basic Skills (Paladin, etc) for now, but feel free to offer more Prompts for Misc. and Specialties. To note, this is 100% member-based and not a staff-approved stepping-stone. You should reach out to your local staff members if you are confused on something! Canis is very creative and has its own process for awarding skills. This is just to help you along and figure out prompts to use in a thread. I hope this helps people, and I encourage you to reply to this thread and add your own prompts for others! Thank you!
PALADIN:
Patrol Your Border
Scout A Pack's Border (As a Vagabond)
Fight off a Predator
Spar with Another Being
MEDIC:
Collect a herb
Plant a seed and/or Garden
Discuss a plant's properties with another
Apply medicine to yourself or another
ECOLOGIST:
Remark on the weather (to yourself or another)
Include official territory landmarks in your post
View the sky (night or not)
Study another being
HUNTER:
Track a Herd or Lone Animal
Make the Killing Blow in a Hunt
Remain Undetected while tracking
Group Hunts (Pack or not)
ENTERTAINER:
Tell a story
Sing a song
Dance for another
Exchange banter (aka jokes)
COUNSELOR:
Offer advice to another
Listen to another's problems
Offer emotional or physical support
Advise a pack alpha on something
Stop a fight (verbal or physical)
MIDWIFE:
Help a pregnant wolf dig a den / find a suitable birthing den
Give a pregnant wolf a check-up
Assist in a birth (also useful for Medic Skill)
Give strengthening herbs to help a pregnancy along
ADVENTURER:
Meet a new character
Discover a cache of food or supplies
Deliver a message to another
Recruit another to your community
