That's not what the sky looked like, did it?

It was moving. Ostrega's had a liking to a few particular things, their love for bone collecting in particular, that Ara had already taken to.. Then there was the star-gazing and the love of so, that even the children of the Alpha pair, were named after constellations within the sky. They knew them, they could hear lores and so and though she paid attention, it wasn't something that was particularly fascinating due to seeing it day out, and day in. Yet that was not something that was familiar.

Above the sky did the stars shift, changing from their orions belt and forming what seemed to be like an elk — but Ara couldn't say for sure. It had hair, a tail upon it's neck that blown in the breeze of the starlights itself, and hooves like one that stomped throughout. A blaze trail within the sky, stars moving and shifting like they were adjusting to get away from it, and she couldn't help but wonder, was the constellations alive?

If so, what was that?

The matriarch watched the sky in quiet awe. The storm had dissipated and erupted all at once into this, the likes of which she had never seen. But she had heard stories of this, and those stories niggled at the back of her mind, a distant memory now. Her mothers voice, speaking stories meant to lull them to sleep, rang within her ears now. Hydra was a woman who was a heathen; she believed in the tangible. What could be seen with the eye. It was difficult to make sense of this, and to rationalize its meaning. For Hydra thought she could see the stars take shape, though the shape was impossible to discern.

Hydra was swift to seek her family, her pack. A low, crooning call to invite any who heard it to join her if they wished. Hydra could smell Ara near, and the matriarch moved in her direction to meet her, too. Her own trail would be easy to follow, should any have heard her call. Hydra soon enough saw her daughter, nothing out of sort to be seen, and sought to sniff her furs to ensure as much. The matriarchs ears rotated 'round, listening for the sound of starfall; she imagined that perhaps this was what may be occurring. The greatest meteor shower she had ever seen, were it so.

What was that? Leta was nowhere near the rest when the sky changed, and no sooner did that happen and she note it that Hydra called. Leta followed the song as if it were her north star, unsure what to think of this event. So flabbergasted was she that she completely forgot to cache the prey she still carried—a rather large hare—until she thought of both her brother and her boyfriend. And her mo—no, not her mother. And Leta noted she had gone one day, without a word; Leta quietly blamed herself for this. How would she feel, in the others paws? It was surely an uncomfortable position to find oneself in. The limp thing hit her cheek as she whipped her head to look behind her, and she blinked, remembering.

Well, it would make a good gift for the matriarch or whoever else might be hungry that she was with. Leta presumed that both West and Osiris would surely find Hydra to see what sense could be made of this. Leta had never seen the stars move as they did this hour, and it was the strangest thing! Placing the animal down, Leta called back to Hydra to let her know she was on her way... and her brother and Osiris, too. Picking the thing back up, Leta began to head that way.

Winter had come and gone. Spring bringing new life and new promises. The world had warmed again. All the while, Elke's own life was a basic-bitch one. She tended her garden, having grown back larger this year then the last. She preened the herbs which she did not use and had ruined. Her own self was her most common patient. Elke often gifted her herbs to more well known medics in the pack. Elke for years now had been more accustom to growing herbs and their uses then to actually apply her skill. Thankfully too, not much medics had been needed besides minor things like headache and belly aches.

This time, it was not the earth with Elke brought her attention toward. It was the heavens. Since a girl she had always been interested in magic, of wonders and beauties beyond her understanding. Her father told her stories of these things. Still, she missed him dearly, wherever he were.

The skies danced tonight after such a horrible storm before which had her tucked away deep within her burrow. It was by far different from any shooting star and even so more then the aurora light show she had seen Moonspear before. She was in awe by it, her mouth agape, the stars dancing in her widened eyes. She laughs happily to this and dances forward through her home to meet Hydra's calling and the daughter at her side. “It's beautiful..” She purrs out, tail waving as she looked up at the celestials above.

Her mother approached with a silence ; alongside of others who slowly came to notice the view itself. The spiraling of the stars and formation of what was above — but no one said why it was happening, but she understood now, it was not a normal occurrence. One way or another this was a rare sight to be, and she didn't realize how impossible it looked — especially as a wolf within the sky itself seemed to look down upon them before looking elsewhere away. Even the lazy cat (at least she thinks so), simply yawned and swatted a paw like they were dust to the heavens.

The only one that broke the ice was her cousin, where Ara turned and looked at her. She didn't think it was beautiful until properly looking, more confused then anything. And she was right, the look of the stars above and the beauty of how they all were, the movements and glory.. Was, beautiful.

Several of her family came, and Hydra was relieved for it. Those that did not she imagined would be with her husband or perhaps her brother; there were enough wolves here that she did not doubt for their safety despite the phenomena that occurred above them. Hydra listened to her niece, ear twitching as she regarded her words. Hydra could appreciate the beauty of the wonder above, even if she did not speak on it.

She drew in a breath and spoke, “the stars have always shone upon this family, in one way or another. I have been named of them, and in turn, you too wear the name of stars,” she drawled, gaze passing over her children. They turned to Elke as she hummed, “and you, too, are of them; the stars aligned, and brought you home to us,” for Hydra had considered this. Elke had not been lost to them, nor her mother. It meant something.

Her gaze turned toward the sky now as she drawled, “I desire to build an empire. And I have wondered for more reason than one if this might be the place to begin such. The stars have never in my lifetime moved so; it seems almost an answer. But to build my empire, I have need of each of you, in different ways. There will be added responsibilities,” she informed.

The cool blue of her eyes turned now to them, surveying their features. “Our family has long been destined for greatness, and it feels as though the time is near to begin the work,” she hummed lowly, the starlight illuminating her features. One ear twitched to listen for any voice that might think contrarily, and the ones that would agree.
