Time grew short and the roan woman knew her children would be here before long. Her hours of sunlight would soon be taken away aside from what stolen time she could take from her children so even though water could be accessed closer to her den, she changed the distance to go a bit farther this time in favor of what little time she had left. Though she longed to stay and place her empty hours elsewhere she knew it would be unwise.

Ira had planned to turn back immediately once she finished, though a hum on the wind accompanied by light paw steps would steal her attention instead. “Empress, I see you are on your feet.” Quicksilver had already informed her of the extent of her injuries, and while there seemed to be no concerns at the time, it was still good to see her doing well. Upon closer inspection though, a bundle of green seemed to sit between her lips. “Pray tell, what have you? I take it this is no chance encounter.” Coincidence still could not be ruled out, but the smile on the pale woman's lips said otherwise.

She could only nod in acknowledgment as she mentioned the silver druid's name. It was good that she had only positive things to say. Perhaps she had yet to notice the confliction that troubled their medic's soft heart. Of course, she was unaware that he had already confessed to her since Quicksilver's first turmoil. Even so, she wished for him to drop this endless chase. Not all love was meant to be shared and the longer he held onto that which was not destined the longer it would plague him.

“Of course, it is with hope that one day we might align our interests.” And that day only grew closer as her stomach bulged. Reiko had mentioned before having children and she was almost certain it was a daughter that stayed in her lands now. She listened as the empress explained her bounty, a conveniently prepped bundle that would help in the time after her own brood had arrived. She would have to remember these nettles should she find herself with child again.“Thank you, I will be sure to make use of it shortly. What of your plans now? Are you ready to head home?”

Though their relations had already been good it was pleasant to hear that Reiko still felt the same. Now that she would have children it would only be a matter of time before she could properly solidify what they currently had, even if it would still be years before a marriage could actually happen. “Yes, well it may still be some time, but we may discuss further once my children have arrived.” If she were to be the one to propose an alliance she would need a son, and with Empyrean she would need at least two.

Ira nodded as Reiko reiterated the use and could only assume taking the nettles now must be damaging to her children. “I will be sure to store them away until it is time.” Temptation would not take her to eat a bitter plant, but it would be best to keep it somewhere safe anyways so her gift would not be lost. “There is no rush should you need the time. You may wait for an escort if it ensures your safety.”

“Never, thank you.” Perhaps the little empress had grown rather dependent on them in recent months, visiting often either by choice or chance, but at the very least she had not taken what could not be replenished. Things may be different had she no manners or motivation, but Ira had little reason to be concerned thus far. A series of unfortunate events, nothing more nothing less.

Hiero had his concerns, thoughts that now admittedly plagued her own mind at the possibility, but they would just have to cross that bridge should the need arise. As of now, there was nothing more they could do but wait. As Reiko turned to leave, she too would retreat back to the confines of her den to bide her time.
