The sun set slowly on this eve, almost as if it were waiting for something before it could fall against the shadow of the mountain. Apsephion watched it closely with an oddly keen curiosity. He had never found much beauty with most things in life, or perhaps he simply didn't take the time to see it.
Beside the lake he sat, a statued silhouette. The waters rippled, but he did not dance with them. Birds chirped high with sweet, melodious songs as they prepared for slumber. Even the fish— they sprung with joyous life! But the shadow looming over the lake did not. And yet — his mind was not so still. It ran in ten
... no, a million circles! So many thoughts, so many questions; but to him, it felt like there was so little time.
There was one specific thing that popped into his head more than anything. The image of @Delgata, so vivid that it seemed as though she were sitting right next to him. A part of him almost wished she were. Would it have been so bad, though? Through all this time, she was the only wolf that had showed him so much kindness. It made his life feel not so worthless. Not so pained... not so cold... not so—... still.
And yet, he was there. Dead, yet alive. Life moving around him as though he weren't even in existence.
