The soul of Pavaki had left, leaving behind a grieving friend. But he wouldn't have had it any other way.
Or, so he had thought.
Bright morning light seemed to shine directly into his eyes; or, at least his one good eye. With a shift of his head, he was saved from the harshness of the sun. The fact that he could move to begin with surprised him. The last he remembered, he could hardly lift his head. But as he opened his eyes and raised his cranium, it was like he was young again. Well, younger anyway. Not like he was on his deathbed which he was sure of only moments ago. But here he was, awake and alert.
This wasn't what he was expecting when he died. Ending up in a strange new place. But it would allow him to live a second life. Was he really ready to deal with everything that life came with? He supposed he didn't have much of a choice. With a small sigh, he forced himself onto his limbs. Though a bit shaky at first, they brought him to the edge of a large lake. It was quite beautiful as he looked out across it, the morning rays reflecting off the nearly still surface.
As his gaze lowered down in front of him, he could see various fish swimming about. His stomach rumbled slightly at the sight. Lowering himself closer to the water, he hunched over still as a statue as he waited for the perfect time to strike.
