Thread is thought gone, not having appeared even after the long interval would typically be over.

Starting in 2510 the dragons, seen as a sign of old times and a drain on valuable resources, a harkening back to days when their rule was one of necessity, have been hunted nearly to extinction after an uprising where a group of Riders thought to put themselves as Lords of All.
Life is hard for everyone not on top. The entire world of Pern is one of chaos and war. Even those who do not want to fight are forced to do so, simply to remain alive.

And yet… There is Resistance. Dragons are raised in a careful secret. Slowly growing in number, this hidden, secret weyr is hoping to, perhaps, one day make a change. To show Pern that it does not have to be this way. That there can be balance, that power can be taken back from those Royal Holders.

Become the resistance. Show the world of Pern that they do not have to bow their neck to those in power, that they have strength all their own if they would only rise up. Rise, and take your place, both as Rider and Handler.

We have seen the first clutches of our current state of of play, including twin dragon queens and a dual-bonded wher queenling, and the loss of an ancient and beloved former weyrwoman. New players, North and South alike, are taking their place on the killing fields and game board.
