You may skip myself and any witnesses for the duration of the battle - I'll hop in if I need to.
She swept up the hill of the Within, her claws clicking upon stone brick. She had brought Nyra and Alduin into her home to prepare them, watching as the two interacted however they did. Old allies? Old lovers? It did not matter, truthfully, to the woman, for whatever they did next would write their fate. Their Judgement was upon them.
She looked back at them, @Alduin: The somber man with dog blood who had arrived first. @Nyra: The woman who had offered her life to a pack she knew nothing about. It was a silly thing for her to do and it would be remembered, but so too would the blind loyalty that it could accrue.
She swept onto the sand that surrounded the Pupil of the Eye, circling around to the barely discernible rocky path up the side of the Pupil. “Find a place on the sand,” she would say after a few steps onto the stone, not bothering to turn back but instead finding a slightly flattened spot to stand on, some two wolf-lengths up.
She would wait for those who wished to witness to arrive, but not too long. They knew what would be happening, from the echoing calls down the halls. They had been informed to find places to observe along the Lid of the Eye.
Once they were gathered, her voice would rise up over the sands. “We are here for the Judgements of Nyra and Alduin, two newcomers who wish to join Sanatorium,” Her eyes would rest upon the two. They had been given ample time to rest and wait, ample food and water, so she did not expect them to be tired or sluggish. “Here, under the light of the -” she checked by glancing up “- gibbous moon, you shall prove your worth in battle.”
Each wolf's Judgement was different, for she knew that some would not be able to do the same as others. Moira, for example, was a tiny thing that would be swallowed in a battle. Zagreus, on the other hand, was a handsome man who could definitely hold his own. “The rules for this duel are as follows. Do not kill. Do not injure grievously - no removal of any limbs or body parts that cannot heal. Scars and ripping of ears is allowed.” For the most sensitive parts were hidden within. “Remain within the Lids of the Eye where I or the Disciples can see. The duel ends when either one of you can fight no longer or I deem it over. You may both succeed in your Judgement or you may both fail, victory in this does not determine your success.”
“Do you agree to these terms?” She licked her lips, waiting until both responded affirmatively.
And then, “You may begin.”
